Northwestern Stamps is a division of Socrates Press, a family owned and operated company located in Bremerton, on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington state.  We have been operating since 1994, beginning as a home based business. As the business prospered, it outgrew its space. We moved into commercial space in the spring of 2000, and purchased the building a year later.

It was originally our intent to manufacture artistic stamps. As things worked out, we did just that. Today we manufacture some of the most detailed stamps available, and with very deep relief. But along the way, we also found a need for a high quality provider of business stamps at affordable prices. In all this, all the stamps we produce are for others. We do not have our own line of stamps, preferring to manufacture for others.

In addition to rubber stamps,  we also produce engraved and full color name badges and signs, and personal embossers. 

STAFF. Our staff level ebbs and flows with demand, but the core staff include:

• Chris McEwen.  The nut case that is writing this page. He is the one who started it all.

• Ester McEwen. She married Chris, something he is eternally thankful for. She heads our art stamp division.

• Peter Famatid. He is our graphic artist and heads the digital print division.

• Cathy McEwen. She is the youngest daughter and heads the custom stamp division.

• Jennifer McEwen. Middle daughter. There isn't any part of this business that Jen hasn't mastered. Unfortunately, she has expressed an interest in moving to the Big City.

NEW PRODUCTS. We have several new products lines that we are adding.

• Etched stone and glass gifts and corporate awards. You will see these on this web site. They are truly exquisite.

• Pet Memorial Plaques. We recently lost a dear four-footed friend, a mini-Dachshund named Pepper. He was the constant companion of our founder for the last 12 years. It was only fitting that we make a memorial plaque for him. The result was so nice that we have decided to offer these to others.

• Full color banners, signs, stickers and decals and vehicle graphics. The new machinery we have just installed will allow us to produce widely varied, exciting products.

• Domed decals. This is a specialty niche market where the  decal is encased in a dome of clear plastic. Very exciting.

• Pad Printing. This is for producing advertising specialties such as custom imprinted frisbees, calculators or pens that can be given away to your company's customers.
